Data Innovation Mini Grants - calls for Expression of Interest

Pulse Lab Jakarta (PLJ) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) would like to announce a call for proposals for ‘Data Innovation Mini Grants’. We intend to award four grants each up to USD 10,000 for innovative ways of collecting, analysing and visualising data that will help the Government of Indonesia in providing more effective services to its citizens.

This is the chance for you to showcase your innovative ways to tackle data gaps and seek novel approaches in the following areas: frontline service delivery, protection of the poor and the vulnerable, and implementation of the village law. Interested organizations can select one out of the three themes. More information about the different thematic areas can be found in TOR Mini Grants

It is important to emphasise that the grants are meant to encourage actual experimentation, not theoretical research, since the objective is to build new skills in the winning organisations’ through actual use of new tools and approaches. The expected outcome is therefore not a research paper, but rather a working prototype that can be used for planning purposes.

This call for proposals is open to any organisation registered in Indonesia. Civil society organizations, non-government organizations, start-up companies, research centres and communities are all very welcome to apply and partnerships are strongly encouraged. The deadline for submission is 17th February, 2015 at 12.00 p.m (WIB).
