Sebagai keluarga ata, keluarga Kahumbu Nganji (50) telah turun-temurun melayani keluarga Kepala Desa Meuramba, Balla Nggiku (60). Namun, baru-baru ini, Kahumbu merasa mendapat kehormatan karena dipilih sebagai anggota staf di kantor desa.

East Nusa Tenggara Preps Digital Library to Promote Tourism

As the country doubles its efforts to attract more tourists through various avenues, the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) administration has prepared a digital library dedicated to resources on local tourism.
The region’s Creative Economy and Tourism Agency head, Watan Darmawa, said such a move was expected to provide easy access to people looking to learn more about NTT’s natural wonders, which, in turn, would boost local tourism.

Wanita berumur 46 tahun yang akrab dipanggil dengan sebutan Mama Sorgum ini dengan giat ingin membuat sorgum kembali menjadi panganan masyarakat lokal. Demi tujuan ini, ia rela menukarnya dengan keringant dan air mata.

In the 1970s, sorghum grain was easily found and widely consumed in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The constant heat and low rainfall in the area allowed the plant to flourish, making it one of the staple foods in the area.
Rich in carbohydrates, the plant was also able to adapt to changing climate conditions.
But as residents turned to rice within the next three decades, it was swept aside.
