TEMPO.CO, Manado - North Sulawesi Province exported 16,000 tons of crude coconut oil (CCO) to the Netherlands in the first quarter of 2017.
"The exported CCO can generate USD24.25 million of foreign exchange income," North Sulawesi International Industry and Trade Department head Darwin Muksin said in Manado on Saturday, August 19.
Darwin continued that the Netherlands market has become one of CCO export countries after the United States. The high demands over CCO from the Netherlands, he said, is a good momentum for North Sulawesi farmers and exporters.
CCO, he added, is the direct derivation of coconut which places first as North Sulawesi export commodity. He confirmed that CCO has been exported to two countries. He also commented that good quality product eases the sales of the commodity, thus making it imperative to maintain quality and volume to attract more market.
