Project Summary:

The Empowering Indonesian Women for Poverty Reduction (MAMPU) program aims to improve the lives of poor women in Indonesia. The first phase of the program (July 2012 – June 2016) will focus on five thematic areas that constitute priority areas for the Australia-Indonesia Partnership and represent key constraints to advancing the needs of poor women:

1. Increasing women’s access to jobs and removing workplace discrimination
2. Improving women’s access to government social protection programs
3. Improving conditions for women’s overseas labour migration
4. Strengthening women’s leadership for better maternal and reproductive health
5. Strengthening women’s leadership to reduce violence against women.
